We take what is learned during the professional learning days and help transfer coaching to the classroom outcomes. We coach teachers with model lessons using their current students. Developing an environment where mistakes are opportunities to learn, is a focus. Our coaches work with teachers to find pathways for each specific classroom and teaching style.
We are not a new curriculum. Our work is a collection of best practices. The methods we demonstrate will work with any curriculum. We help teachers transform their current resources into high cognitive experiences in which all students will learn. We use a standards-based approach to teaching believe where textbooks are used as resources.
Many of our consultants are current practitioners and believe their work as part-time consultants change the lives of the student and teachers we serve.
The answer to this question really depends on the needs and scope of your teachers' capacity and student body. The good news is most schools can use existing materials and teacher creativity to transform tasks to meet the depth of the state standards. With time and practice, teachers ask intentional questions where student thoughts are valued and students develop the leadership to direct their own classroom learning. It is truly a sight to behold.
